I am a sociologist who studies how social inequalities in schools and workplaces arise and persist. I primarily use qualitative methods (e.g., interviews, observations) to examine the everyday experiences of people who are marginalized on the basis of race/ethnicity, class, gender, and sexual orientation. Currently, I am an Associate Professor of Sociology at Endicott College in Beverly, Massachusetts. I earned a Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Chicago. I also have a M.A. in Educational Policy Studies from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a B.A. in Sociology from Wellesley College.
